SHANNON'S STORY:
"Practicing yoga during my pregnancy
has been relaxing and physically relieving. After
a yoga class, my body is no longer stiff and
my backaches are gone. I believe the edema has been kept
at bay with the regular practice of certain inverted poses,
and I also can't help but speculate that the inverted poses
have helped keep my blood pressure down. Women tend to
worry more about weight during pregnancy when the more
important numbers relate to our blood pressure. I have
been practicing hip-opening exercises hoping it will ease
my birthing experience. After I give birth in mid June,
I will have to report back on that one. I highly recommend
yoga during pregnancy! "
